To reduce the number of out-of-school children in the country and promote the importance of education, a non-governmental organisation, Ibironke Adeagbo Foundation (IA Foundation), has created awareness of enrolling these children in school.

The group also seek partnership with privileged individuals to fund the enrolment of out-of-school children in schools.

The foundation staged a walk-in Ajegunle, Ifelodun LCDA, Lagos, to create awareness and campaign for support to get the children back to school.

The walk includes volunteers, IA foundation members, and security men from the Ifelodun LCDA. The group hiked through the streets of Ajegunle sharing fliers, key rings, air fresheners and wristbands to motorists, local business dealers, and commuters to sensitize them on the importance of literacy for children.

The group also visited the LCDA office, where the chairman, Olorunfemi Okeowo, commended the foundation on the initiative and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts toward reducing out-of-school children in the country.

He pledged to support the foundation’s cause generously, even by starting with the volunteers.

Responding, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Ibironke Adeagbo expressed appreciation for the support of the LCDA.

The group also visited the Local Government Area school and distributed mathematics sets to selected 35 candidates from all the government-owned primary schools in Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA a set of Mathematical sets.

Addressing the students, the founder, IA Foundation, Adeagbo encouraged them not to relent in their pursuit of academic excellence.

She also admonished them to take their education very seriously because the international stage is waiting for them, to show their talents, citing examples of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Akinwunmi Adeshina who are among Nigerians making the country proud.

Some of the participants include volunteers of IA Foundation, a legal practitioner, Barrister Tijani, and Mr. Dapo Odebowale and his team from the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Lagos State.
